Aside from being chart toppers and the greatest pun in music, the Beatles are also one of music’s biggest influences. The “Fab Four” rocked the 1960s and early 70s with a constantly evolving sound. Using elements from classical, pop, rock, and Indian music, among others, the Beatles created a mix of both classic and eclectic hits that still resonate today.

“Come Together” with Dr. Crossland this summer on an exploration through the music and career of one of the most iconic bands in history.

MUSC 336: The Beatles: Career, Music, Culture, Innovation, Impact explores the Beatles’ cultural, political, and social impact on Western culture (both past and present) while also discussing fundamental elements of their music – melody, harmony, rhythm and more. MUSC 336 does not require any musical training, allowing for all music lovers to enjoy!

MUSC 336 is an 8-week online course offered during summer session I, and it fulfills the Arts and Humanities GEP requirement.
