Featured Course: Sports Production

Ever wonder how sports broadcasters decide which moments to replay, and what makes the highlights?

MCS 370: Special Topics in Media and Communication Studies (Sports Production) allows you the opportunity study key concepts, themes, and skills within media and communication studies.

Experience the basics of broadcasting and marketing collegiate sports as you participate in the production and promotion of UMBC basketball games. Learn about camera operations, observe facilitation of sponsorships, assist in ESPN broadcasts, and contribute to the creation of post-game highlights.

MCS 370 counts towards the New Media and Applied Communication elective area for MCS majors and may be repeated for up to a total of 6 credits.

Successful completion of MCS 222 is recommended before taking MCS 370.
